Town Garden, Oakham
Our brief was simple: to create a garden with a strong underlying structure with generous borders for the client to full with flowers plus a space to entertain in the summer.
The rectilinear design included a new fence to unify the disjointed boundaries, expansive flower filled borders linked by a series of gravel and sandstone pathways and a semi-formal gravel garden enclosed by a low box hedge. The sandstone patio is adjacent to the house and an oak rose pergola adds height to ‘draw’ people down the garden.
Build: Client’s own contractor.
Planting: Emma Scarborough Garden Design Ltd. April 2016.
